Mickey Mouse Makes His Big Debut (1928)

On November 18, 1928, Walt Disney introduced the world to a new animated character in the short film Steamboat Willie. Shown at New York’s Colony Theatre, it became one of the first cartoons with synchronized sound, and launched Mickey Mouse into pop-culture legend.
